Program

Special Focus activities engage all the ways we learn: motion, auditory, visual, and repetition. Our activities nurture a positive attitude, participation, creativity, and focus for students while helping teachers present a full range of subjects.

Special Focus’ adaptable method works in subjects as diverse as:

  • Language arts: narrative, verbal communication, comprehension, language elements and spelling
  • Performing arts: Storytelling, presentation, creating characters and scenes and acting
  • Physical education: Coordination, range of motion and understanding the difference between motion and stillness
  • Math, science and social studies: Bringing concepts and facts out of the textbook and to life in the classroom
  • Life skills: teamwork, self-discipline self-confidence, identifying emotions, and developing positive responses to life situations

Because these activities are highly adaptable and flexible, we always train teachers in how to adapt the program for all grade levels, abilities and inclusion settings.
