Special Focus Training to Go Online

March 13, 2009

Special Focus has received a grant to create an eLearning course. This course will train teachers in how to use Special Focus activities to engage and focus students while teaching state standards and adapting the activities for students with different abilities and special needs

“We are delighted and honored,” said Elaine Clark, Special Focus Executive Director. “This grant represents a vote of confidence from those in the education community who have seen our program and know that it works.”

Teachers who complete the online training will receive a certificate of completion from Special Focus. Ron Machado of Miraloma School in San Francisco noted, “This is a great idea. Besides being cost-effective, eLearning makes Special Focus training available to teachers everywhere.”

“Given the Special Focus teachers’ theater background, I’m sure that the training will be professional and engaging while being fun and sometimes funny,” said Starranne Meyers, principal of Guiding Hands School in El Dorado Hills.
